Nišville 2020 – Free program, with a limited number of people

Date: September 17, 2020
Time: 00:00 - 00:00
Location: Niš

In a changed format and in accordance with the current situation caused by the pandemic, the popular Nisville Jazz Festival will be held in Nis from September 17 to 20. This year, the festival is traditionally supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia.

During the four days of the free program, 24 concerts are planned, which will be performed on two stages: Welcome stage - at the Queen Natalija fountain in front of the bridge near the Fortress and Youth stage in front of the Nisville Jazz Museum in the Fortress. In the evening, the film program "Nišville Movie summit" with a total of 26 films will be realized, while during breaks the pianists will play with silent films as part of the "Nišville Kristina stage".

Let us remind you that the online edition of the festival was held in August this year, when the musicians performed on the Summer Stage in the Nis Fortress, without the presence of the audience. In accordance with the epidemiological measures in the current situation, the September edition of the festival will provide an opportunity for a limited number of people to attend the program, which is realized under the message "concerts and movies for mental health relaxation"

There will be a small number of chairs in the audience during all activities, and all those present will have to adhere to the prescribed measures in order to protect against the virus.

You can find the complete schedule of concerts, activities, as well as other more detailed information on the official website of the festival.

EU support for the popular jazz festival in Nis started in 2014, when the "Youth stage" was created through the project "Jazz - multicultural expression" and gathered young musicians of Serbian, Albanian, Bulgarian and Roma nationalities. The Youth Stage then sent the message that multiculturalism is an advantage of this region - it can break down borders, create new friendships, make new music and extract the best and most creative from young people.

This year, the audience will be introduced to young musicians from Albania, Italy and Serbia - participants in the international jazz project JAIN (Jazz and Interculturalism), funded by the program "Creative Europe"
