Why is science important?

Date: November 24, 2020
Time: 18:00 - 21:00
Location: Novi Sad

On the occasion of the upcoming Researchers' Night, we use the opportunity to shed light on this topic once again. Science is a part of our everyday lives, without us always being aware of it.

On the other hand, dedication to science and engaging in science requires great investments and sacrifices.

Therefore, some of the issues we will address are:

  • How justified are investments in science, in a world facing economic and other crises?
  • Why is science really important?
  • What role does the ability of scientists to talk about science play in the importance of science?

The lecture will be given by Dr. Tijana Prodanović, a full professor at the Department of Physics in Novi Sad. In addition to science, he is engaged in the popularization and promotion of science, holds trainings in public appearances and presentation skills. For 10 years, she has been the program coordinator of the Researchers' Night in Novi Sad and the former director of the Science Festival in Novi Sad. She founded the association of Scientific Communicators NauKom.

You can follow the lecture on our Facebook page EU info corner Novi Sad, and all registered participants will receive a reminder by e-mail on the day of the lecture.
